About the Job

CCI is looking for a passionate and driven Program Manager to develop and manage CCI's programs focused on expansion of equitable addiction treatment. They are effective at managing deadlines and delegating and managing responsibilities. This role requires strong critical thinking, exceptional communication and people skills, project management and facilitation skills, and an ability to develop key relationships with program participants, consultants, and funders. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of a collaborative team that is focused on achieving major improvements in areas such as equitable behavioral health integration, social determinants of health, virtual care, and population health.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Management - Manages projects from design to completion including participating in developing the program structure and its key components. Oversees the management of the day-to-day activities of the projects.
  • Program Planning & Preparation - Prepares and manages program resources (i.e., work plans, timelines, charter, etc.) and program strategy, including evaluation of the projects. Develops requests for proposals and selection criteria for program participation. Designs data intake and survey instruments. Monitors progress of the program participants and helps to identify when additional support or pivots are needed in a program.
  • Facilitation - Serves as lead facilitator for internal and external engagements and meetings. Sets agendas, prepares guest speakers, leads conversations and activities.
  • Relationship Management – Builds and maintains relationship with mission aligned organizations to grow the impact of the program work through partnerships. Negotiates contracts and manages relationships with consultants and other external contractors connected to projects. Builds and maintains positive and productive relationships with program participants; works with them to meet program milestones.
  • Research & Strategy - Advises on strategic direction and actions related to the project.
  • Content Expertise - Builds content expertise in areas in select programs. Works with supervisor to gain the necessary skills to be able to provide insights to program design and development and work closely with grantees to respond to questions.
  • Project Administration - Manages project budget and operations in partnership with Senior Manager and Operations team.
  • Staff Oversight - Trains and mentors staff working on the program.
  • Data Analysis/Presentation - Analyzes data and presents program results to internal and external stakeholders. Prepares grant reports and presentations.
  • Special Projects - Conducts special projects as assigned such as research, data analysis, or assistance with consulting projects as needed.
  • CCI Leadership - Collaborate with managers and senior leadership on organizational initiatives and contribute to working groups and the development of organizational priorities.
  • Overnight travel may be necessary for this position when travel is safely possible again.
  • Actively supports colleagues and leadership with priority projects.

  • Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude focused on identifying solutions to challenges within the organization and related to programs.
  • Passionate about advancing CCI's population health programs including a focus on trauma informed care.
  • Thrives when working on ambiguous and evolving projects. Has openness to trying new approaches to the work, iterating on those approaches quickly, and changing course when needed.
  • Ability to contribute to programmatic strategy, make presentations, and communicate directly with external partners and stakeholders to move a program agenda to its desired goals and to effectively manage assigned staff and consultants.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.   • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of the organization, which may require adjusting schedules to enable attending evening events and offsite meetings.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a diverse group of organizations.
  • Information Management Tools - MS Office.

Required Qualifications

  • Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience - Minimum of 4 years of experience in health care or community-based organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education - Master's degree in related field.
  • Experience - 4 or more years of project management experience in healthcare organizations, preferably community health centers or experience in community-based organizations.
  • Understanding of service delivery challenges for safety net organizations.
  • Experience or training in Human Centered Design or Quality Improvement.
  • Experience with managing projects that focus on the impact of trauma on children and adults.
  • Experience using database management systems.

Location

In the short-term, CCI is allowing remote work from home. Ideally the Program Manager is Bay Area-based long-term, but candidates in other locations will be considered. Applicants from locations other than the Bay Area will be expected to travel to CCI's office in downtown Oakland a few times a year. Exact expectations for work location (i.e., remote from home and/or at the CCI office) for the Program Manager will be determined upon hire.

Compensation + Classification

CCI is committed to paying competitive wages. To continue our commitment to equity – and because we understand that salary negotiations inherently have an unfair bias – we do not participate in a salary negotiation process for any candidate. Salaries for each position are uniform company-wide and non-negotiable. This Program Manager role corresponds to level 3A, with an annual salary of $90,000.

This is a full-time exempt position spanning 8 months, with the possibility to extend if funding allows. This position will report to a Senior Program Manager or Director.

Employee must have the ability to attend meetings, sitting, listening, and computer work up to 8 hours per day.
