Farm/Ranch Management Instructor

Job Description

Mitchell Technical College is seeking a Farm/Ranch Business Management Instructor for the South Dakota Center for Farm/Ranch Management (SDCFRM). This is a full-time, salaried position and open until filled. The instructor will be responsible for providing on-farm educational training and consulting in farm business management, financial planning, and farm accounting in South Dakota. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing individualized instruction and analysis of farm business records
  • Helping develop a working understanding of cash flow, net worth, p/l statements
  • Assisting in recruiting, selecting, advising, and counseling Farm/Ranch Management students
  • Working with business and industry in developing partnerships to enhance and grow program
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality of Farm/Ranch Management student records

Applicant should have strong experience with the ag industry. Associates degree or higher required, training or teaching experience preferred. Regional travel is required. Candidates must be able to pass a state and federal criminal background check.

Annual Security Report/Campus Security Crime Statistics

The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act requires that the college’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report which includes crime statistics be made available to prospective employees and prospective students upon request. Mitchell Tech’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported Clery crimes that occurred on campus and on public property within or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus safety and security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault prevention and response, timely warnings, emergency response, and other matters.
