Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Vice Chancellor of Talent Technology and Total Rewards.  Bring your academic and industry expertise and be a part of the growing Mosiac that is HCC.

Job Summary

The Associate Vice Chancellor, Talent Technology and Total Rewards oversees the design and implementation of Compensation, Employee Records and Talent Technology plans and programs.  Implement and maintain the Compensation Service Delivery Model.  Assure compliance with FLSA, Equal Pay Act, Records Retention, and required state statutes.

Responsible for the design, execution and effectiveness of a system of internal controls, which provides reasonable assurance that operations are effective and efficient, assets, are safeguarded; financial information is reliable and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.

Manages Talent Engagement activities for direct reports in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, development, mentoring, counseling, and performance evaluations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Direct managers and indirect support staff in the Compensation, Employee Records and Talent Technology Departments to set goals and objectives that directly relate to improving productivity in their department of responsibility and how to achieve those goals such that documented improvement is apparent.

Govern the application of Compensation, Employee Records and Talent Technology policies, government regulations, and prevailing FLSA wage rates.

Direct preparation and distribution of written and verbal information to inform employees of compensation, employee records and talent technology policies, regulations and practices.

Act as subject matter expert on cross-functional teams by providing consultative and functional assistance for ongoing administration of Talent Technology system modules.

Direct, oversee and approve the development of automated Talent Engagement business solutions and recommend process improvements, innovative solutions, system enhancements and maintenance of all Talent Engagement modules and interfaces.

Develop and manage the Compensation, Employee Records and Talent Technology, budgets in planning and tracking.

Build collaborative relationships with all internal constituents as well as external constituents and vendors.

Analyze employee and business needs for HCC compensation/benefits programs to develop short and long range strategies, goals, and action plans and to create competitive compensation/benefit plans.

Determines scope of services by consulting with Chief Human Resources Officer and other management to ascertain organizational needs to further the vision of HCC.

Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Computer Science, Information Systems ore related field from a four-year college or university
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 8 years professional experience in a variety of Talent Engagement fields and/or technical assignments required

Licensing & Certification

  • Valid Texas Driver License
  • Professional Certifications (SPHR, PHR, CCP or CEEB) preferred

Working Conditions

General office.  May frequently be required to walk; stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.  Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, photocopier, file cabinets, and calculator.  Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, ability to reach and bend, and use 2-step stool while safely lifting and lowering boxes.  Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business-related events.  May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
