Coordinator, Early College Access Programs

Class Description

The purpose of this position is to serve as an advocate for the College, Early College Access Programs and students. Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.  

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree required, degree in Education, Marketing, Communications, Public Administration and Master’s Degree preferred.  Experience in Admissions or Student Services working with diverse student populations is required. A minimum of three (3) years of prior experience preferred. Prior experience working with high school students is preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Develop and implement goals and objectives in coordination with senior management. 
  2. Remain knowledgeable about the College, its structure, culture, policies, and practices. 
  3. Serve as point of contact for internal and external organizations.
  4. Serve as an advocate for the College and its students, as required.
  5. Represent the college at networking events, affinity groups, and business and industry associations.
  6. Serve as liaison between College departments, faculty and/or staff, as required.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Work with the director of Early College Access Programs (ECAP), to draft clear concise communications materials for internal and external publications about ECAP programs for internal and external audiences. 
  2. Establish contact and maintain communication with BCPS counseling offices to ensure all ECAP opportunities are made available to high school students. 
  3. Work with the director of ECAP and BCPS to ensure the compliance with the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future (Blueprint).
  4. Work with the director of ECAP and BCPS to clearly communicate information and processes related to college and career readiness protocols outlined in the Blueprint.
  5. Work with Continuing Education leaders to manage and coordinate students completing workforce and apprenticeship options.
  6. Work with the director of ECAP and BCPS to ensure all BCPS students are assessed and their college and career readiness is determined as defined by the Blueprint.
  7. Create a strategy and develop content for the college’s website and social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram).
  8. Identify areas for growth in BCPS and private schools and make recommendations for that growth and expansion.
  9. Collaborate with the director of ECAP and the Admissions Office to implement a process through which ECAP students become primarily CCBC students. 
  10. Manage, organize, and ensure that all assessment testing efforts and registration materials are processed in a timely manner.
  11. Work with Disability Support Services, the public and private schools to ensure that students receive all accommodations to which they are entitled. 
  12. Under the direction of the director of ECAP, prioritize and manage technology projects in collaboration with other Enrollment departments to identify areas of growth.
