Summary

The University of Michigan has a challenging and rewarding opportunity available for a responsible, organized, and motivated individual.  We are seeking a Field Office Director for a major federally funded research project studying Alzheimer’s and other dementias in Nueces County, TX.

This position is located in Corpus Christi, TX.

Responsibilities*

The position is based in Corpus Christi, TX. The role will involve oversight of the daily operations of the project and is critically important to the success of the project. The core duties of this position will include:

  • Responsible for direct personnel management including hiring, training, and supervising study team.
  • Work closely with Project Manager to oversee day-to-day field operations. Verify all study-related tasks are completed in a timely manner as well as ensure compliance to study protocols, policies, and procedures Serve as primary point of contact for study subjects.,
  • Work with research administrator to ensure purchases adhere to sponsored project guidelines and budget.
  • Will cross-train in all job duties of the staff they oversee including assisting with memory screenings and interviews when needed.
  • Must be willing to agree to any COVID-19-related protocols put in place by research study and University of Michigan. These may include providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination, wearing face coverings and other personal protective equipment as required, and completing a short daily health assessment.

Required Qualifications*

  • Associate level will require: Bachelor’s degree and 1 to 3 years of related experience. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Intermediate level will require: Bachelor’s degree and 4 to 5 years related experience. Master's or Doctoral Degree preferred.
  • Previous personnel management experience (minimum 1 year).
  • Excellent computer/technical skills (Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, and Excel required). Familiarity with Google Workspaces, Zoom, Windows/macOS, and iOS.
  • This fast-paced environment requires critical thinking skills, excellent written and verbal communication, and meticulous organization/attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and motivational skills and a friendly and professional demeanor.

Desired Qualifications*

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  • Previous research experience.
  • Familiarity with Institutional Review Boards (IRB) and/or public health.
  • Advanced technical/troubleshooting skills are a plus.

Background Screening
