Job Description

ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, MIT xPRO, MIT Open Learning, to identify, build, and secure revenue-generating relationships with MIT xPRO prospects.  Will collaborate with other business units throughout the Institute to deepen relationships established with organizations. Key responsibilities will include actively identifying and soliciting prospects; independently developing trusted relationships with executive leaders at Fortune 2000 companies, government entities, and large NGOs; helping prospects evaluate and buy the MIT xPRO catalog of products; collaborating with colleagues at Bootcamps, Industry Liaison Partners, MIT Horizon, MIT Open Learning, and MIT broadly to identify additional sources of potential revenue and client-focused collaboration; reviewing, updating, and providing suggestions to improve MIT xPRO’s overall sales plan, processes, and tools; tracking own sales revenue and reporting on sales achievements to date; reconciling sales purchase orders with finance/contracts to ensure accuracy; providing market intelligence and product feedback to the MIT xPRO products and leadership teams; and performing other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED  bachelor’s degree, at least five years of relevant sales experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Seek someone with an entrepreneurial approach to the work who is able to initiate and develop strong professional relationships with senior business leaders across many industries; identify and solicit new prospects and close contracts for complex B2B product offerings; and work independently in an unstructured, startup environment.  PREFERRED: advanced degree (M.S. or MBA).  Job #21835-10
