Mid Florida Community Services, Inc., headquartered in Brooksville, FL is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Agency Profile
Founded in 1968, Mid Florida Community Services (MFCS) is the largest private 501(c)(3) nonprofit Community Action Agency in Florida, with an annual operating budget of over $40M and providing a diverse enrichment service delivery model throughout seven counties (Hernando, Pasco, Lake, Sumter, Citrus, Polk, and Volusia). Services include: Head Start/Early Head Start, Senior Services, Self-Sufficiency Case Management, Energy Crisis, Children’s Advocacy Center, Weatherization, Transportation Disadvantaged, Community Food Distribution, and Affordable Homeownership Initiatives.

The most recent annual report highlights approximately 15,000 individuals and 4,725 families benefitted from MFCS program and services. Major noteworthy accomplishments include, but not limited to:

  • 40,000 take home meals provided to Head Start/Early Head Start children during the pandemic to combat food insecurity
  • 600,000 meals served to low-income hungry elderly persons
  • Over 9,750 services provided to 700 children who were victims of physical/sexual abuse and/or neglect
  • Cost savings of approximately $280 annually for families who received weatherization services
  • Over 3,000 rides provided to Veterans and their spouses, resulting in a total cost-savings of $15,000
  • 11 individuals completed an AA/BA degree or technical degree program

Early Learning Profile
Mid Florida Community Services began operating Head Start programs in the late 1970’s. Today, over 1,000 children receive Head Start/Early Head Start services annually throughout the service region (Hernando, Sumter, Volusia). With an annual budget of approximately $24M, 240 staff members, and over 20 facilities…Early Learning is the largest program operated by MFCS.

Requirements
Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, health, human services, business administration, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in program administration
  • 3-5 years of experience of senior level leadership
  • Ability to lead a diverse workforce
  • Ability to operate and manage mid to large size budgets
  • Must be able to lead with intention
  • Forward thinker and solution focused
  • Ability to develop and implement plans, and strategies towards the achievement of goals and objectives
  • Must possess interpersonal savvy and a strong business acumen
  • Must be analytical and able to make tough decisions
  • Must be able to embrace innovation and flexible thinking
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with staff at all levels within the organization, funders, and community partners
  • Ability to travel frequently
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a thorough background screening process

Qualifications Desired

  • Master’s degree in education, health, human services, business administration, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in program administration
  • 5+ years of experience of senior level leadership
  • Experience working in Head Start/Early Head Start programs
  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to create and sustain a thriving work culture
  • Extensive experience in developing/growing other strong and competent leaders

The compensation for this position includes an annual salary in the range of $90,000 – 100,000. Additional benefits include a robust health/dental plan, life insurance, short/long term disability, retirement plan to include 8% employer contribution, and a company vehicle.

Compensation
Wage: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00/yr.
