Summary of Job Duties:

The successful candidate will conduct applied economic research of commodity markets, with a strong emphasis on the global rice market. The candidate will be in charge of maintaining and updating the Arkansas Global Rice Model and the RiceFlow model currently maintained by the Arkansas Global Rice Economic Program. The candidate will also assist in presentation preparation, presentations, publishing articles, and writing grant proposals.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications Candidates are required to have a Ph.D. in economics, agricultural economics, resource or environmental economics, natural resource management or other applicable field by date of hire; advanced training in quantitative methods, microeconomics, and applie Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with strong modeling skills. Experience working with optimization software, in particular GAMs, and with the software package GEMPACK is desirable. Other preferred qualifications include knowledge and experience abou Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced training in quantitative methods, microeconomics, and applied econometrics; and strong written and oral communication skills.
