Director of Community Support Programs

TheDirector of Community Support Programsfor Goodwill of the Olympics & Rainier Region (GORR) is responsible for overseeing Goodwill's five community focused programs: Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), WorkFirst, Disability Services, Veteran and Military Services and Youth programs.

Across all programs the Director will give strategic direction, support best practices, increase collaboration and elevate strengths to benefit all the community focused programs (and Vocational School content). In conjunction with the program managers, the director will maximize the effectiveness of program deliverables and overall performance, being readily available to assist and guide with programmatic decisions and contract requirements.A major function of this role is grant writing and review and is a skill that the candidate is required to possess.

Salary: $70,000 - $80,000 - DOE

Schedule: Hybrid - WFH 2 days a week!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop initiatives and strategies that impact the region and guide the operations, policies and procedures for the entire workforce development organization.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on the Workforce Development Leadership team in developing and managing standardization of infrastructure to assure consistencies in service delivery and quality across the entire 15 county area.
  • Ability to strategize with other program directors on how expansion in our community programs might serve a larger population across the 15 counties.
  • Lead strategic planning and execution of strategic initiatives to continuously evolve community programs. Ability to take into account specific populations and remote, hybrid and in person engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Internal and External Engagement regarding community interface as Goodwill considers expansion.
  • Ensures participation in monitoring and auditing functions for programs. Work with the program managers over time to ensure they have support across the organization. Meet all contractual obligations for high quality programs.
  • Partner with VP of fundraising to drive strategies for program funding, including government private and corporate opportunities.
  • Oversee Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) compliance responsibilities and coordinate effort across the Goodwill of the Olympics and Rainier Region organization.
  • Lead teams to set annual goals, evaluate progress towards these goals and support the professional development needs and interests of staff.
  • Coordinate the budget process with each Program Manager monthly to evaluate revenues and expenditures. Ensure and expenditures with staff to align revenue and expenditures within budget.
  • Ensure that participant data is regularly entered into Goodwill's data system. Review regularly to assure date integrity and to increase quality, efficiency and effectiveness of data and informed decision making.

Program Development

Develop and drive programs that address the issue of racism and the impact that implicit bias can have on program development, marketing, community engagement, community participation, community assessment and ultimately career pathway job placement. Ability to center that issue as policies, procedures and processes are developed.

Community Engagement

Engage with community organizations that intersect with the community program areas giving additional capacity to the work that programs managers do and focus on increased visibility for our programs and partnerships for expanded impact.

Participant Engagement

Drive insight, guidance and support into the program managers and their populations by reducing risk factors, navigating systems to increase participant success, ensuring participant stability, safety and wellness and building competencies per contract requirement.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Social Services, Public Administration, Education or related field or equivalent experience; Masters degree preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in administration or leadership role
  • Solid understanding of strategic planning and developing innovative and creative solutions.
  • Exceptional analytical judgment, decision-making and communications skills
  • Superior coaching, leadership and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build understanding and consensus

Supervisory Responsibilities:Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Cultural Competency:Demonstrate cultural competence; specifically, awareness, attitude, knowledge, willingness and skills to work effectively with a culturally and demographically diverse population

Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, andexperience working with case management tracking systems, and in depth reporting.
