Job Summary/Basic Function
The Spanish-speaking Student Resource Coordinator will join the SFCC Student Success team to provide mentoring, guidance and support for students who are experiencing non-academic barriers. This grant funded position will provide individualized case management and integrated support. The position will collaborate with various campus departments and community organizations to develop, implement and evaluate programs that increase support to students, and increase persistence, retention and graduation rates, particularly among Hispanic and low-income students. This position will use data analytics to develop services and coordinate workshops to include financial literacy training for students.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements: Bilingual (Spanish and English)
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education or related field.
  • One (1) year experience in coordination of outreach programming and case management delivery.
  • Equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
  • A background check is required.
  • Valid NM driver’s license required. Successful completion of a defensive driving course post-selection is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling or social work preferred.
  • Licensed as LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, or LPCC preferred.
  • At least two years post-secondary experience.
  • Work experience that demonstrates ability to interact effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds and dedicated to integrating multicultural perspective into all aspects of work.
  • Experience conducting outreach programming, presentations, trainings and or workshops relevant to college students.
  • Experience collaborating with community providers and services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of case management techniques.
  • Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and skills using Microsoft Office, Student Information System (SIS), student tracking software, case management software.
  • Knowledge of campus-wide programs and related student needs.
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Skills in developing and facilitating effective training workshops.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
  • Ability to work professional and must have leadership skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally using multi-level collaboration.
  • Ability to work with an ethnically and culturally diverse student and campus population.
  • Ability to collect and analyze data.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to various student situations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-setting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Job Duties
Responsibility/Duty
  • Collects and analyzes student data to identify non-academic barriers for student success.
  • Implements and presents resource workshops based on identified student needs, and collaborates with community providers for additional student support events for campus community to include community members, students, staff, faculty and administration.
  • Identifies, develops, implements, and maintains strategies and procedures in effort to coordinate internal and external support services for a diverse student population.
  • Participates in meetings and maintains synergistic relationships with applicable internal and external constituents to provide and expand upon non-academic student support services.
  • Provides individualized student case management and advocacy, maintains appropriate documentation within college database systems, and provides well-developed reporting information based on data collected.
  • Advocates with appropriate referrals for students.
  • Integrates multicultural perspective into all aspects of work.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
