Job Description

Management and Leadership. Assistant Professor of Management, tenure track position, to start September 2023. Seeking candidates with a Ph.D. in Management or Business Administration with interest in leadership studies, with the ability to teach courses in non-profit management and/or entrepreneurship, who want to join an innovative department integrating undergraduate management education in a liberal arts environment. Consideration will also be given to a Ph.D. in a related field and substantial relevant managerial experience. Eckerd College emphasizes a teacher-scholar model and seeks faculty with an exceptional liberal arts education and a strong commitment to imaginative teaching and meaningful scholarship. Prior teaching experience and/or managerial experience strongly preferred. Teach seven courses (3-1-3) per academic year including three to four sections annually of an introductory principles of management & leadership course, an occasional section of organizational behavior & leadership, plus a senior-level non-profit management course and/or an entrepreneurship course. The January Term offers an opportunity to lead study abroad with students and teach special topics courses.

Participation in an interdisciplinary, values-oriented general education program is required, including a regular rotation in the two semester first year student program. Eckerd College, the only independent national liberal arts college in Florida, has a tradition of innovative education and teaching/mentoring excellence.
