WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The conservation work of TNC in Nevada is organized around four main Strategies (Protection and Stewardship; Resilient Public Lands; Sustainable Waters; Energy, Infrastructure and Land Use), and each of these strategies is lead by an individual Strategy Director. The Conservation Associate helps advance those Strategies, working with the Strategy Directors and Conservation Director. The Conservation Associate will manage core functions and processes in support of the conservation strategies of TNC in Nevada. The Associate coordinates grant management activities for public and private awards including preparation, submission, and management of grants, in partnership with Strategy Directors, as well as Development, Finance, and Operations staff. The Associate also helps facilitate annual planning and budgeting; administers contracts; manages and coordinates multiple conservation projects; conducts research to support priorities; facilitates team communications in multiple forms; and serves as a liaison to other TNC staff such as Science, External Affairs, Development, marketing, Finance and Operations. May also work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain and under physically demanding circumstances. The Associate reports to the Conservation Director.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years experience in natural resource management or similar field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing staff or volunteers.
  • Relationship building experience to work closely with a variety of partners, i.e. media, government officials, internal scientists.
  • Experience completing tasks independently with respect to timeline(s).
  • Experience with communication via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
  • Experience using common software applications such as Word, Excel, web browsers, etc.
  • Experience in training.
  • Have a valid driver's license.
  • Experience operating GIS software, analyzing data and producing data reports and creating maps.

SALARY INFORMATION

This position is a salaried position with an annual beginning salary of $ 55,000 to $ 58,500 depending on experience and location.
