Class Description

This position is responsible for implementing a grant-funded initiatives designed to increase the number of pre-apprentices and apprentices training at CCBC in Continuing Education healthcare programming. Responsible for ensuring expected outcomes. 

Compensation within the posted range is determined by a candidate's education level and/or years of experience in the field.  Generally, employees are hired in the lower third of the scale.  

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, degree in business, health & human services, education or related field and Master’s preferred.  Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in program development and/or project management required.  Experience in the planning and implementation of system-level procedures required.  Knowledge of apprenticeship and/or work-based learning models preferred.  Experience with a related industry or program preferred. Related industries include but are not limited to: aerospace, bio-science, business services, healthcare, government, education, and information technology.

Class Specific Essential Duties

  1. Coordinate a functional process within assigned College department or division.
  2. Implement department programs or initiatives.
  3. Monitor compliance with policies and procedures.
  4. Maintains department records and files, as required.
  5. Conduct and attend meetings, as required.
  6. Supervise, advise, and evaluate assigned staff, as required.
  7. Prepare, analyze and provide reports on miscellaneous subjects, as requested.
  8. Manage program expenses efficiently and economically.
  9. Identify, access and analyze program data in the college’s enterprise system
  10. Provide superior customer service and problem-solving.

Position Specific Essential Duties

  1. Provide leadership and management for the activities outlined in the grant proposal:   Procedures, models, compliance and best practices for programming; funding; program alignment; marketing; employer engagement; recruitment and retention of students/apprentices; and documentation/reporting.  
  2. Ensure successful achievement of expected outcomes, maintain fiscal accountability, and ensure compliance with funder requirements.
  3. Compile and write reports to summarize grant activities. 
  4. Input, gather, and report detailed data to analyze and summarize information and procedures for presentation to internal and external audiences.
  5. Collaborate with agencies that oversee apprenticeship to ensure compliance.
  6. Evaluate, recommend, and assist with applications for appropriate funding sources that align with apprenticeship activities.
  7. Establish partnerships with credit and Continuing Education faculty, staff, and professional colleagues to match and align programming with apprenticeship.
  8. Develop content for apprenticeship marketing efforts, website enhancements, and social media outreach.
  9. Represent and promote the college at affinity groups, professional business associations, and community and networking events.
  10. Interact with businesses, non-profits, and workforce intermediaries to establish apprenticeships, recruit apprentices/students, and manage apprenticeships.
  11. Organize events for students to learn about or participate in activities.
  12. Council and advise apprentices/students for recruitment and retention.
  13. Document programs and apprentices through data collection, analysis, and reports.
