Enterprise Risk Manager

Job Description

  • Develop and implement a risk management system to provide oversight of institutional risk and opportunity. Manage liability and risk exposures for the College.
  • Administer risk management program on a day-to-day basis.
  • Manage and analyze risk management data.
  • Monitor and coordinate compliance and risk management activities throughout the institution to ensure complete and consistent compliance.
  • Evolve a risk-based compliance plan that addresses the highest priority compliance areas and reports issues of compliance activities to College leadership.
  • Conduct risk management action plans and educational programs.
  • Provide training, awareness and general guidance on current and high-risk compliance requirements.
  • Works directly with Internal Auditor for risk assessment reports.
  • Works collaboratively with Internal Auditor to ensure timely submittal of annual risk assessment report to TBR.
  • Serve as a resource and liaison for departments throughout campus to make certain that compliance and risk issues/concerns within the organization are being appropriately addressed.
  • Routinely communicates with departments via focus groups, departmental meetings and other communication venues to support effective risk management strategies.
  • Take loss preventative actions to improve structural systems issues, all with the objective of maintaining safety, enhancing quality of education and minimizing loss to protect the assets of the College.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of appropriate experience in risk assessment and/or project management
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the College community.
  • Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy, cultural competency, and excellent judgement.
  • Must be a customer-focused, resourceful, collaborative, responsive, and results-oriented problem solver.
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities and change to increase performance and efficiency measures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization preferred with a background in risk management or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education; facilitation and mediation skills; experience in risk management functions.


Salary: Commensurate with college pay scale.
