Primary Work Address: 6001 Forest Park Road, Dallas, TX, 75390-9050

We are currently looking for a Postdoctoral Associate to work in the laboratory of Dr. Ben Tu at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX. The Tu lab is investigating how fundamental cellular processes are coordinated with metabolism and the metabolic state of the cell. Working in both yeast and mice, they are exploring novel and unexpected links between small molecule metabolites, signaling pathways, and disease. This work has implications for understanding cancer, obesity, aging, and neurodegenerative conditions.

The chosen candidate will work on research projects in the exciting field of epigenetics and metabolism, nutrient-sensing pathways and their links to disease, the discovery of natural products with new modes of action against fungi, or other areas depending on interest. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate, focused scientist who would like to actively contribute to answering important questions and be mentored while working alongside other postdocs, grad students, and researchers in a medium-sized, collaborative laboratory. The chosen candidate will also have access to UT Southwester's postdoc training program and be part of a thriving research community. Candidates in their final year of PhD studies who expect to defend in the 2022-23 academic year are welcome to apply.

Experience independently managing a research project in an academic laboratory. Experience with mammalian cell lines is preferred. Any computational experience would be a plus.

About the Lab:
