Opportunity Overview: PROGRAM DIRECTOR

Deliver excellence through managing and leading Club, ensuring the highest quality programs and service delivery for our members, families, employees, and community. Strategically oversee and manage the operating, financial, staff and community relationships which make BGCKC leaders in youth development.

Responsible for ensuring high quality programs are delivered to our members. Lead planning, budget and annual work plan for Club site. Develop, share and use best practices (including BGCA best practices) to contribute to the overall success of BGCKC through active participation with stakeholders.

Oversee the day-to-day management of the Club programs, employees and facilities. Actively participate in work with the Area Directors, Operations Directors, Sr. Program Directors, Club Service Center, and other Program Directors to ensure successful outcomes for BGCKC and its members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Management and Leadership

  • Work with Marketing and Communications on advertisement of Club programs.
  • Utilizing strong emotional and social intelligence competencies, inspire and develop staff to live the mission, vision and values of the organization while delivering an Outcome-Driven Club Experience for youth and families.
  • Work closely with Area Director and Operations Director/Sr. Program Director to develop key community partnerships development, collective impact and data sharing between school districts and other community-based organizations.
  • Lead and manage internal staff to conduct effective operations, run a well-managed facility, assure member safety and deliver high quality customer service at all times.
  • Serve as the primary site leader for community connections to local school site (i.e. Principal) and where applicable, district or other education administrators.
  • Requires the flexibility to adjust shift as needed to include early mornings, and occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Provide visible leadership at Club site, maintaining regular contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members and their families.
  • Collaborate and partner on appropriate committees and task forces.



Program Quality Leadership

  • Provide leadership oversight to all Club programs and partnerships. Manage Club Youth Program Quality initiatives with a focus on sustainable growth and development of our work and an emphasis on continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that all data related to program outcomes are collected on a timely basis which will drive outcomes and demonstrate impact with youth and families. Provide Club specific information and reports for Leadership and other internal sources in a timely manner.
  • Enhance good public relations including speaking and presenting in public forums, building and sustaining partnerships with parents and families, stakeholders, community agencies and partners.

Financial Sustainability

  • Build annual budgets and plans that establish a financially viable Club, including enrolling programs that are sustainable, collecting fees for services and managing expenses at or below budget targets.
  • Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, schools, member’s parents and other stakeholders to assist in resolving problems; build strategic partnerships, and maintain good public relations.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • For licensed sites, must meet Washington Administrative Code (WAC) 170-295-1010 requirements for Site Coordinator.
  • Two years' experience in management, supervision, or leadership preferred. Required at licensed sites.
  • Two years’ youth development experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities management, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.
  • Comfortable with and experienced in utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage databases, collection information and pull accurate reports.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, professional presence, strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management skills
  • Strong team player.
  • Ability to implement, train and support youth discipline techniques through organizational youth development philosophy.
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record as determined by BGCKC Vehicle Loss Prevention Program, must be 18 years old or older to drive Club owned and operated vehicles (7 and 12 passenger vans) or 25 years old or older to drive larger Club owned and operated vehicles (15 passenger vans and mini buses)
  • Within 90 days of hire, must possess current certifications and or training in: First Aid/CPR, Blood Borne Pathogens.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge and/or experience working with a non-profit youth development agency, Boys & Girls Club experience preferred including a proven commitment to BGCKC cultural values.
  • Experience with Licensed Child Care Programs. Knowledge of Washington State Department of Early Learning (DEL) and City of Seattle licensing requirements.

HOURS: Full time, hourly.

LOCATION: Carson Elementary,1035 244th Ave NE Sammamish, WA 98074

PAYRATE: $27-$28/hr, DOE

FLSA: Non-exempt

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, i.e. copier toner.
