Associate Director / Director, Business & Finance

UCF Athletics at the University of Central Florida, an NCAA Division I institution and American Athletic Conference (The American) member, is seeking applications for the position of Associate Director / Director, Business & Finance.

Under the direction of the Associate A.D., Business & Finance, the selected candidate assists in the day-to-day management of the Athletics' Business Office (a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization) within UCF, Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and manage assigned departmental budgets;
  • Process and record transactions and ensure that all requisitions, invoices and reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with financial policies and budget;
  • Review and approve expense reports;
  • Prepare journal entries for accrual adjustments;
  • Coordinate business operations related to travel and serves as a liaison with third party travel partner (Anthony Travel);
  • Monthly reconciliations and reporting for assigned sports and departmental units;
  • Engage in the management of the scholarship budget and Nutrition Center analyses;
  • Provide support towards audit preparation and year-end closing;
  • Actively provides customer service and training for Athletics staff;
  • Research and assistance with NCAA and federal reporting (EADA, NCAA AUP, etc.);
  • Oversee the daily work of the Assistant Directors for Business & Finance

Minimum qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four (4) years of appropriate experience. Prefer demonstrated experience in reconciliations, financial statement preparation and analysis, and audits. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls, computer applications (Workday, Microsoft Office), and interpersonal skills also preferred.
