The Associate Director of Adult Education & Transitions to College, reports to the Assistant Dean of Workforce and Economic Development. The AD is responsible for the day to day running of the Adult Education and Transitions to College Program at all sites. The AD's duties include the following: hire, supervise and evaluate the performance of all DESE funded staff; oversee quality of curriculum and instruction to insure alignment with best practices in adult education, coordinate and communicate with AE partners; and monitor program data to track program effectiveness relative to performance and enrollment targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and manage all DESE staff and faculty.
  • Coordinate weekly, curriculum, assessment, and department meetings.
  • Conduct classroom observations for faculty each semesters.
  • Oversee service and resource needs for faculty and staff members across sites.
  • Plan and collaborate with BHCC Academic Deans, department chairs and other college officials to schedule college-level courses; implement faculty orientations and professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain a proficient knowledge of current adult education trends on assessment, learning outcomes, teaching, learning and student development strategies, and coordinate sharing days with faculty and staff.
  • Attend mandatory DESE meetings.
  • Work with DESE-funded adult learning centers to identify potential collaborations and program referrals.
  • As permitted: attend professional development workshops and conferences.
  • Review student data in the state database, keep student records updated regularly.
  • Co-write reports for DESE.
  • Attend division meetings.
  • Obtain required TABE CLAS-E and BEST Plus certifications.
  • Support division leadership with career pathways to college efforts.



Job Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Education, Administration or other related field.
  • Experience in administration of MA adult education programs preferred.
  • Experience working with adult learners and diverse populations.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Experience in budget development and management.
  • Excellent organizational skills and excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.



Additional Information:

Salary Range: $86,000.00-$90,000.00 (grant-funded)
