The Opportunity

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures invites applications for a nine-month, non-tenure earning faculty position at the rank of instructor or lecturer in Spanish, anticipated to begin in December 2022. The candidate will begin teaching in January 2023.

The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s mission by teaching primarily lower-level language classes in Spanish. Assignments will consist of eight classes per year.

Minimum Qualifications

A master’s degree (for an instructor) or terminal degree (for a lecturer) in Spanish or other appropriate discipline from an accredited institution at the time of appointment; demonstrated excellence in teaching beginner and intermediate language classes at the university or college level; native or near-native fluency in Spanish and a high level of English proficiency is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to those with at least two years teaching at the college level as well as experience in teaching using a range of modalities (i.e., online, and face-to-face courses).
