Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a highly motivated Program Coordinator for the Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine (D.A.Y.A.M.) within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Program Manager/Medical Director, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Family Planning/Sexual and Reproductive Health Programs with the supervision and collaboration of the Advanced Practice Nurse, Program Administrator, Division Director, and the grantee.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates and directs day-to-day activities related to the programs within the department.
  • Coordinates technical and professional staff to accomplish program goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with providers, staff, students and interns to advance program research activities and community engagement.
  • Educates providers (Doctors, Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants) and staff on the eligibility for the Title X Program and other State and Federal Programs.
  • Works closely with clinical staff in the DAYAM Clinic to ensure they are enrolling eligible clients in the programs, following proper procedures and providing adequate information to the funder.
  • Defines data collection and database needs for the DAYAM programs’ grants.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement

Rutgers University requires all new employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the employee a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing or related field.
  • Minimum three years of related experience in program coordination.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Familiar with federal and state programs, grants, and program coordination.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable with discussing client’s sexual needs, family planning concepts, family participation, and interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Team builder.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Family planning experience.
  • Spanish proficiency in speaking and writing.
