Description
YFU USA has multiple openings available for new or experienced Local Coordinators/Area Representatives in your community! Work from home, set your own hours and allow your effort to determine your compensation! Local Coordinators with YFU USA will earn up to $1300 per student/family matched and supported annually.

A non-profit international educational organization with partners in more than 60 different countries, Youth For Understanding is one of the world’s oldest, largest and most respected intercultural exchange programs. For 70 years and with more than 270,000 students worldwide supported by host families, volunteers, schools, and communities, millions of YFU participants have shared a vision for generations of empowered global citizens for a more peaceful and sustainable world. The YFU global network is united by the belief that full cultural immersion is the most effective means to gain the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly multicultural, interconnected and competitive global society.

As a YFU LC/AR you will help students worldwide realize their dream of living in the USA for a year! Coordinate the placement of students with host families where they will have the opportunity to share their story, traditions, and customs while they discover a new culture right in their own home!

As an independent contractor you will promote Youth for Understanding USA’s (YFU USA) programs with the specific objective to identify and match YFU volunteer host families with YFU exchange students. Assist the host family with completing the host family application and work with YFU staff to complete the vetting process and finalize the placement. Work with accredited public and charter schools to obtain approval for student admission.

As an independent contractor you will Promote YFU hosting opportunity through phone, email and written communication, face-to-face contact, personal networks, social media, attendance of local festivals/farmer’s markets, and other identified recruitment methods, within the guidelines set by the US State Department and YFU USA.
You will work with Community Manager to identify target communities and schools with potential for growth.
YFU USA Local Coordinators (LC) support the students and families throughout the school year.

Some things you’re born with. Other things—your confidence, your individuality and perspective—you will discover. Since 1951, YFU has helped students all over the globe find themselves, expand their world and discover intercultural opportunities through studying abroad.

YFU is different from other intercultural exchange organizations because of our thorough preparation and program support that’s backed by a global team of volunteers, many of whom have been exchange students or host parents themselves. From the moment you become a part of the YFU family, we’re with you every step of the way. Thousands of parents across the globe trust YFU with their teenagers every year, and thousands of students every year choose YFU to help them discover their inner selves.

Let this year be the year you find out more about you.
