Standing at the bench for extended periods. Sitting at desks and computers for long periods. Walking some extended distances to locations of need for use of service centers or collaborations as example. Lifting of objects up to 25 pounds.
Shift
Typically Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some nights and weekends possible due to experimentation.
Job Summary
A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Ming C Gong at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky, USA, to work on NIH-funded projects. The overall goals of the laboratory are to investigate the role of circadian genes in blood pressure circadian rhythm dysregulation in diabetes (Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 2021;22;118(25):e2015873118) and aortic aneurysm induced by DOCA/aldosterone and high salt (Arterioscler Thromb Vasc Biol. 2017;38(5):1063-1075). Our research uses multidisciplinary in vivo and in vitro experimental approaches, including genetically modified or diseased mouse models and various molecular and cellular biological, biochemical, immunological, and physiological methods. Applicants are preferred to have received their Ph.D. in less than three years from basic science departments. Candidates must be highly motivated to pursue scientific excellence. Extensive experience in mouse models, cell culture, biochemical and molecular biology techniques.
