Position Summary
Coordinate laboratories for all first-year chemistry labs across three undergraduate schools. Distribute equipment/supplies/chemicals to laboratory stations. Oversee implementation of lab safety protocols and equipment. Maintain laboratory stockroom and preparation room; maintain/update files related to assigned experiments. Prepare and set-up materials and equipment for use in student laboratory experiments. Administer Chemical Hygiene Plan/ Safety and serve as the Chemistry Department Safety Officer. Assure compliance with all safety regulations and requirements within the department. Maintain knowledge of OSHA and NFPA regulations. Oversee maintenance issues for teaching and research labs; work with facilities and faculty on emergency and maintenance issues as they arise. Responsible for the issuance of materials, supplies, chemicals and small equipment. Distribute materials, supplies, chemicals and small equipment to teaching and research labs in conjunction with staff. Will act as a primary resource for shared department instrumentation; create/maintain basic, general operating procedures for introductory training of researchers and students; ability to troubleshoot and repair minor issues is preferred; liaise with service technicians as required. Maintaining an inventory of supplies, materials and chemicals of teaching labs. Purchases, requisitions and receives supplies, materials and chemicals for the teaching and research laboratories. Works with vendors to review new products. Utilize University Procurement and work collaboratively with faculty and staff.

Required Qualifications
- B.S. or higher in Chemistry.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Knowledge or expertise of common laboratory procedures.
- Understanding of Material Safety and Data Safety sheets.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work in teams.
- Capable of supporting collaborative research and work with faculty in modernizing laboratory experiments for undergraduates.
- Experience working with various stakeholders, such as students, faculty, staff, and administrators, expertise in safety protocols and familiarity with current OSHA and NYS environmental safety policies.
- Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- M.S. in Chemistry or related field
