New Mexico State University Alamogordo is seeking a full time Assistant Professor of Biological or Life Sciences

Position Summary:

New Mexico State University Alamogordo is seeking an Instructor to Professor, of Information Technology for a full-time, 12-month, tenure-track position. The instructor will provide 30 credit hours of instruction per academic year in Information and Electronics Technology, Cybersecurity and related fields. Other job duties include:

Work closely with local industry for curriculum assessment and student employment.

Chair the Information Technology Advisory Board.

Participate in degree marketing and associated student recruitment and retention activities.

Develop teaching materials, such as PowerPoint lectures and student labs

Advise students about the IT program and its courses.

Teach weekends, evenings, online and hybrid classes, and off-campus within service area.

Participate in professional development activities.

Participate in committee assignments and other institutional service.

Participate in community and society service.

Conduct on-going student learning assessment at the course and program level.

Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Knowledge:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Information and Communication Technology, or other discipline with an emphasis on networking.

One or more relevant cybersecurity certifications such as CIT/Cyber, CompTIA Security+, Certified IT Security Professional, or other related certification.

Two-years full-time or equivalent part-time teaching experience in information technology or related field courses.

Ability to teach program courses, such as Network Communications, Network Operating Systems, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Software Maintenance, and Information Security, as well as develop and teach new program courses.

Experience developing and teaching face-to-face and online curriculum to include hands­ on or electronic-based laboratory procedures for the reinforcement of course material.

* Experience using information technology related hardware and software
