Current projects include developing innovative imaging and analysis methods to: study: i) the effects of chemotherapy on neurocognitive function in cancer patients, ii) breast cancer and lymph node metastasis and treatment response, iii) neurodegenerative diseases, iv) diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma, and v) COVID-19 and COVID-19 sequela. While many of our projects include imaging, we use transdisciplinary approaches to tackle clinically impactful problems. Our group has and needs expertise in neuroscience, clinical sciences, and other disease domain expertise, in addition to imaging methods and image analysis. These projects are funded by multiple R01 grants
Doctorate (Required)
Montefiore-Einstein is nationally recognized for clinical excellence—breaking new ground in research, training the next generation of healthcare leaders, and delivering science-driven, patient-centered care. We are one of the largest health systems in the New York City metropolitan areas that serve a large and diverse patient population. Montefiore-Einstein has an annual NIH grant funding of $193M (FY2020) and is home of many Centers of Excellence, including 8 NIH-designated research centers. Montefiore-Einstein Radiology has over 75 FTE radiologists and a large array of imaging facilities across 3 acute care hospitals, a dedicated children’s hospital as well as multiple satellite clinics across the metropolitan areas, conducive to clinical research. The Gruss Magnetic Resonance Research Center (Radiology) has 9 imaging research faculty and an array of research-dedicated human and animal imaging scanners. Other Radiology research activities include 3D printing and theranostics.
Postdoctoral fellowship available immediately in the Magnetic Resonance Research Center and Radiology. This position offer an excellent opportunity to work in a highly innovative environment with interdisciplinary scientists. Our research focuses on applying medical imaging methods and analysis methods (include machine learning) to study health and disease, aiming at early detection, accurate diagnosis, evaluation and prediction of disease courses and treatment responses. We collaborate closely with clinicians to solve clinically impactful problems.
