JOB SUMMARY
The Institute for Collaboration on Health Intervention and Policy (InCHIP) at the University of Connecticut seeks qualified applicants for the position of Post-Doctoral Research Associate, a full-time position. The duties include (1) to conduct research with Prof. Blair T. Johnson on health psychology-related subject areas, including but not limited to a meta-analytic review focused on mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR); with other duties by mutual agreement (e.g., activities supporting editorships at Social Sciences & Medicine and/or Psychological Bulletin). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct advanced research on social factors in health and related topics, contributing as a primary (lead) author or co-author on Prof. Johnson’s research projects; assist Prof. Johnson in mentoring students in data analysis and writing publishable research papers; engage in activities to further develop research skills, especially in data analysis, through conferences, workshops and advanced coursework; write grant proposals; and perform related duties as necessary and by mutual agreement.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A doctoral degree in an area of health, social, or behavioral sciences; evidence of scholarship through published research in the field of social science and health; demonstrated evidence of organizational skills and attention to detail; strong writing skills; strong interpersonal skills; and demonstrated experience conducting advanced quantitative data analyses and especially multi-level meta-analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated skills in conducting spatiotemporal analyses and creating graphical displays of complex results. Demonstrated skills with qualitative research.
APPOINTMENT TERMS
This appointment is an 11-month, annually renewable position. A three-year commitment is preferred, with the possibility of renewal dependent upon funding and performance. The grant supporting most of this appointment will take place over five years.
