Compensation: Salary is $47,498.66. Compensation package is comprised of many college paid benefits including health and life insurance, retirement, leave time, and tuition waivers for Santa Fe College and the University of Florida.


The Math Studio Coordinator is responsible for managing and creating materials for Intermediate Algebra courses in the OER platform (currently MyOpenMath) and the learning management system (currently Canvas) in collaboration with faculty; assisting algebra faculty with course preparation and technical issues; ongoing faculty mentoring; assisting students and faculty with technical issues; coordinating interventions in concert with the Santa Fe Learning Commons; supervising and hiring math studio learning specialists; and managing the Math Studio in all of its aspects.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Create and maintain curriculum resources for MAT1033/32/34; implement changes as needed to enhance. curriculum and implement learning commons initiatives.

  • Manage online components; provide technical and policy support to faculty and students.

  • Provide technical support for faculty piloting OER sections using MOM in any course.

  • Orient, train, mentor faculty and provide leadership for the courses MAT1033/32/34.

  • Assist all faculty with best practices.

  • Create and maintain the schedule, attendance data, and common instructor resources for MAT1033/32/34.

  • Plan, organize, schedule, and evaluate Math Studio activities.

  • Hire, train, and supervise learning specialist staff.

  • Manage final exams for MAT1033/32/34; assist with data reports for all common finals.

  • Provide data analysis for the math curriculum.

  • Create budget for all math department studio support services.

  • Strictly honor the privacy and security of student records and other sensitive information according to appropriate state, federal and college regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Academic Chair, Mathematics


Required: Able to be credentialed to teach MAT1033 in one of the following ways:

  • A Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematical Physics, Mathematics Education, or Teaching Secondary Mathematics,
  • A Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of the qualifying fields above, or a bachelor’s degree in a qualifying field combined with a master’s in education and at least two years of high school teaching experience,
  • OR credentialed to teach MAT1033 by portfolio.

At least one (1) year of tutoring experience is also required.

Additional Requirements: A criminal background check will be conducted.

Preferred: Supervisory experience, teaching at a community college, and experience of programming/coding. Proficiency with Excel, Canvas, and MyOpenMath is also preferred.
