Description: Charleston Southern University invites applications for an Assistant/Associate Professor in the College of Adult and Professional Studies (CAPS). Charleston Southern seeks candidates who are professing Christians, committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. They should support the goals of a strong liberal arts education and be willing to explore with students the integration of faith and learning. CAPS offers master’s degrees in management, business analytics, project management, and supply chain management, and bachelor’s degrees in management, hospitality and tourism, human resources, project management, and supply chain management. The seven (7) week courses emphasize critical thinking, problem solving, servant leadership and multicultural understanding. There are six, seven-week sub-terms annually. Courses are completed 100% online. CAPS undergraduate degrees have been consistently ranked as a Top 20 online program according to the U.S. News and World Report.
Responsibilities: The teaching load will include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in an online format. This faculty position is for a twelve (12) month contract. The selected candidate will teach 36 credit hours each academic year. The faculty member holding this position will have a significant influence on the programs and curriculum of the department. Faculty members may be required to participate in academic advising, serve on committees and engage in service and scholarly activities. The successful candidate will be committed to integrating the Christian faith into his or her teaching and scholarly activities and advancing the Christian mission of the University.
Qualifications: The position requires a minimum of a master’s degree in business, management, or a related field with a preference of an earned Ph.D. or D.B.A.in a business-related discipline. Prior online teaching experience with demonstrated effectiveness in undergraduate and graduate instruction is preferred. In addition, the successful candidate will have at least five years of practical experience in a field relating to management. Priority will be given to the candidate who has a background in supply chain, accounting, Analytics, project management, or related field.

The South Carolina Baptist Convention founded the institution in 1964 as the Baptist College at Charleston . The campus is located 16 miles from the city of Charleston within the city limits of North Charleston. The institution changed its name to Charleston Southern University in 1990 to reflect the offering of graduate programs.
