Job Description:
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include receiving advanced training and becoming proficient in coordinating diagnostic cases submissions in the Pathology Section of the Iowa State University Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory. After appropriate training and demonstrated proficiency, responsibilities include timely completion of case work; establishing effective lines of communication with submitting veterinarians; periodically spending time in the field facilitating more in-depth diagnostic case investigations; client training and outreach, small-group, clinically-focused training of veterinary students in diagnostic medicine and related implications in practice; and presenting relevant case reports, data summaries, and research findings at professional and stakeholder meetings.
Incumbent would also be encouraged to concurrently pursue a graduate degree in a field related to veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine.
Required Minimum Qualifications: - Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent
- Working knowledge of food animal production medicine
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Work experience in veterinary practice
