Digital Content Writer CLASSIFICATION: Professional II SALARY: $40,703.00-$66,143.00 LOCATION: Niceville Campus FLSA STATUS: Exempt The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to
effectively carry out its mission. Duties and Responsibilities
The Digital Content Writer position is directly accountable to the Chief Communications Officer for the following duties
and responsibilities:
- Write, develop, edit, and publish content and copy for a variety of digital platforms, including the NWFSC
- website, blogs, videos, email marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, social media posts, infographics,
- speeches, and more.
- Follow NWFSC brand guidelines and ensure all messaging is consistent within the marketing guidelines
- established by the college as well as uniformity with the value and mission of Northwest Florida State College.
- Assist with advertising, marketing and public relations efforts of NWF State College as directed by the Chief Communications Officer.
- Lead the coordination of planned publicity campaigns and maintain positive relationships with College constituents.
- Write, edit, prepare, and coordinate the customized distribution of NWF State College press releases and print publications, including but not limited to, feature articles, brochures, etc.
- Write, edit, prepare, and coordinate the customized distribution of NWF State College social media materials for official NWFSC social media channels.
- Assist in the maintenance of content for the NWF College website.
- Research and compile content for departmental reports including, but not limited to, the College’s annual report, weekly/monthly reports, and program review.
- Coordinate with the Chief Communications Officer in the development of promotional strategies, publications, multimedia, and advertisements for the College.
- Coordinate and organize internal College events, including but not limited to ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, grand openings, Convocation, etc.
- Serve on various college committees and organizations as requested.
- Participate in professional development activities as requested.
- As a part of the college’s risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Communications Officer or the College President.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field with four (4) to six (6) years of relevant experience OR applicable combination of education, training, and experience.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with use of social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of mass media practices and advertising markets.
- Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Style guidelines. General knowledge of printing processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively and in positive manner with students and the general public.
- Computer skills/accurate typing skills.
- Experience in business/office procedures.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules including evenings and weekends.
