Job Description
This position serves as Academy Commander of the Macon County Law Enforcement Training Center (MCLETC) responsible for guiding the organization to fulfill its mission.
Must have a demonstrated vision and leadership and knowledge and experience in law enforcement training and operations, including areas such as firearms, criminal and internal investigations, patrol, physical fitness, budget, and policing strategies. A demonstrated ability to work effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds, including faculty, law enforcement recruits, professionals, and administrators. Ability to prepare and implement an institutional budget. Possess a strong, functional, relationship with executives within the Illinois law enforcement community and demonstrate successful management of staff and functional facilities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a multi-disciplined Criminal Justice field or other related field and at least three years of experience managing a multipurpose training facility. Experience coordinating instructors, facilitators, and service providers within a complex, multi programmatic structure and experience implementing a multi-week curriculum designed to meet established regulatory standards required. Past experience designing a programmatic strategy to achieve organizational goals and objectives involving an identification of needs, exercise of skills to grow an organization, and strategic collaboration with other organizations is required.
The position requires extensive background and leadership experience in law enforcement or the criminal justice field.

Salary : Pay Grade E-16 Minimum Starting $84,741.53
