STATE SALARY RANGE: SC Band 05 - $34,331 - $48,927 - $63,524
HOURS: Mon - Thurs 7:45 am - 5:00 pm; Fri 8 am - 1 pm

In this challenging role, you will be supporting the HR - Human Resources department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
SUPPORT TO VP Serves as executive support for the HR/CPE division. Provides direct administrative and technical support to the Vice President for Human Resources, including but not limited to coordinating and maintaining daily calendar, scheduling appointments with employees or other stakeholders, proactively adding college and/or community events to the VP's calendar, maintaining filing systems, receiving and reviewing all incoming correspondence, screening and handling correspondence, preparing correspondence on behalf of the VP, preparing appropriate files for recurring meetings ahead of time, compiling reports, coordinating special events, etc. Conducts general and specific HR related research, as needed, with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion and drafts correspondence as requested. Initiates drafts and proofs correspondence, reports, legal memoranda and other highly sensitive HR/employee relations related documents. Maintains confidential records for the VP, as necessary. Assists VP with keeping federal/state mandatory postings up-to-date according to regulations and processes travel requests to include travel authorizations, travel arrangements, and reimbursements.
DEPARTMENTAL SUPPORT Provides administrative support for the HR department. Coordinates business management and support activities for the department to include, but is not limited to, processing requisitions, travel authorizations, travel arrangements, travel reimbursements, effectively maintaining departmental calendar and/or room reservations (anticipating and correcting any conflicts in advance), and scheduling meetings upon request. Performs yearly office inventory; maintains office supplies - keeping stock current including all toners for office machinery; calls in repair requests as needed and maintains current purchase/requisition notebook. Performs yearly records retention purging for employee records per state requirements. Takes minutes for departmental meetings, as needed. Verifies staff/faculty employment. Sorts and distributes mail daily. Provides administrative support to departmental staff, as needed. This may include, but is not limited to, assistance with the college background check process, preparation of orientation packets or other other employee materials, responding to Position Description requests, logging dual/overload forms, archiving files, etc.
CUSTOMER SERVICE Maintains a consistent presence at the HR reception window and ensures a high quality of professionalism for the HR office. Serves as the first point of contact for employees and other stakeholders. Answers telephone, email, and fax correspondence for the Human Resources Department promptly. Researches and evaluates requests and makes referrals, as appropriate. Directs guests and callers accurately and with courtesy. Ensures follow up on all reports. Assists applicants with completing an online application for employment. Orders name badges and disseminates to employees, as needed.
BUDGET Maintains departmental P-Card and associated expense documentation. Ensures departmental expenditures are expensed to the correct account and object code. Ensures P-Card reconciliations and submitted timely and accurately. Assists the AVP with budget compliance and reporting.
EXIT INTERVIEWS/RETIREMENTS Coordinates the exit interview process. Disseminates the notice of resignation/retirement within the department, as appropriate. Prepares exit interview paperwork. Schedules exit interview appointment with employee and HR staff. Ensures the appropriate return of keys to Facilities, destroys ID badges, and communicates with appropriate GTC personnel for security purposes. Orders artwork for retirees. Reports on % of exit interviews completed.
Performs other duties as assigned by the VP for Human Resources.

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two (2) years relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or associate's degree plus four (4) years relevant experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services.
