We have a rare opportunity to start your Business and Data Analytics career within our Institutional Research (IR) department as an Institutional Research Business Intelligence Systems Analyst. Minimum Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function, duty and accountability satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Applicants for this posting will be considered for Level I.
Level I:
1) Bachelor’s degree in business or computer information systems, or a related field.
2) One or more years of related information and/or analytic experience or a combination of education and experience.
3) Experience with SQL, Cognos, and related data analytic tools.
Progression Plan:
An employee hired at Level I or II will be given a set of written, measurable and articulated standards for the employee to meet before moving to the next tier level. The movement from one level to the next is based on knowledge, skills, and ability and will occur once all standards are met. In order to continue to qualify for this position, the incumbent must meet the standards to progress to the next level within the following time frames:
- Level I to Level II within 24 months of date of hire
- Level II to Level III within 36 months of date of hire
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Standard indoor office environment. May be required to lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs. Extensive use of computers and other electronic equipment.
Work Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours per week/52 weeks per year. Standard hours are M – F, 8:00 – 5:00 but due to cyclical nature of position, some overtime, including evening and weekend hours, may be required to complete projects under deadlines. Some local and statewide travel.
The College has three modes of work, which are 1) on-site (100% physically at a College worksite), 2) hybrid (time split between remote and on-site), and 3) remote (100% remote with no on-site work). This position is currently operating in a hybrid work mode. On-site and remote days are determined by the needs of the department. All new hires must be able to work in a hybrid mode while the College is operating under a hybrid work plan and must be able to work on-site in a full-time capacity if/when the College transitions to a full-time on-site work model. This position may work in a hybrid, remote, or on-site model based on the needs of the College, and as assigned by the immediate supervisor. These modes are subject to change.

Standard working hours are based on Eastern Standard Time, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, some overtime, including evening and weekend hours, may be required to complete projects under deadlines. Occasional on-campus visits and travel within Michigan may be required on an as needed basis and as requested/assigned.
