Job Summary

Role Description:   This position will promote a model of excellence for Adult Palliative Medicine.

Reporting Relationships:  This position will report to a home department with oversight by the Section Head, Adult Palliative Medicine.

Required Qualifications*

Michigan Medicine is seeking board certified Hospice and Palliative Care Physicians to join our successful program in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This clinical faculty position is a unique opportunity to join any of our various service lines, including palliative care in outpatient clinics, inpatient consults, as well as potential participation within innovative models of community and home-based care -- all dedicated to providing outstanding care to adult patients with serious illness. This position also provides the opportunity to engage in clinically oriented scholarly activity and teaching as part of an academic faculty appointment on the Clinical Track at the University of Michigan Medical School, where participation in educational activities, weekly educational conferences, and faculty development is encouraged among a collegial faculty.

The ideal candidate will be board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, have successfully completed an ACGME accredited Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship program and have experience in Palliative Medicine. They should hold or have the ability to obtain the appropriate medical licenses in the State of Michigan. Candidates should be able to collaborate effectively with other clinicians and interprofessional team members. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. Evidence of clinical competence and experience teaching in a clinical and didactic setting is expected.

Background Screening
