Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

The Federal Work Study Coordinator coordinates the Federal Work-Study Program, counsels students, and handles administrative duties for the Director of Financial Aid Services. This position facilitates the entire internal and external FWS program for the college and provides administrative assistance using PeopleSoft as well as Cornerstone.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Serve as the primary contact for all information as it pertains to work-study/student employment;
- Coordinate Federal Work Study student and supervisor orientations and plan a yearly calendar of orientation dates and FWS Fair;
- Process, approve, and initiate the authorization of all student employment on campus & off-campus via Cornerstone;
- Act as liaison between MassBay’s Financial Aid Office and outside organizations;
- Determine eligibility for and authorize Federal Work Study awards;
- Monitor work-study funds by keeping records and verifying against expenditures as provided by Payroll. Reduce award amounts as needed and notify Payroll of changes;
- Coordinate with Payroll to reconcile monthly work-study funds and allocations;
- Ensure student employees are compliant with work hours and are not working during scheduled class hours;
- Stay current on federal, state, and institutional guidelines to ensure compliance;
- Participate in new student orientations and other related events both on and off-campus;
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Financial Aid Services.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other field related to area of assignment; with three (3) years experience and/or training involving area of assignment, which may include college registration, academic advisement, career development, career experience, training, curriculum development, audio/visual or graphic production, grant administration, budget development, program/project management, event planning, administrative work in an academic environment, or personal computer operations; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

- Demonstrated understanding of federal campus-based work-study program requirements, including common elements and funding process;
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment;
- Highly organized;
- Familiarity working with school-based records/data systems/software (e.g., PeopleSoft);
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $33.95 per hour
Position Type: MCCC Part-Time Grade 4

Telework: MassBay is pleased to offer its staff the option of telework. Employees upon being hired into a position will have the option to apply for a telework schedule. Telework is not guaranteed and all staff must have the ability to report to campus as needed.
