This is a regular, full-time, tenure-track position. Assignment is a 166-day schedule of 15 contact hours per semester. Work may require day and evening hours at various locations during the fall and spring semesters with an expectation of regular campus presence. Potential for teaching summer courses also exists. This position may work at least two evenings a week during the fall and spring semesters.

Position Summary
This position requires a highly motivated individual that will assume co-leadership for all aspects of the Business program preparing students for careers in business management or supervision. Required competencies include program planning and management, effective curriculum design and delivery methods, a mindset of continuous quality improvement, and the ability to build relationships through interpersonal and institutional engagement. In the faculty role, the successful candidate will be responsible for introducing students to topics inherent to Business as it relates to the business sector.

Physical Demands
The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 – 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing or a related area or a Master’s degree or higher with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Business, Management, Marketing or a related discipline from an accredited college or university – at the time of application, attach unofficial transcripts showing completed coursework and degree conferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience in the field of Business and/or Management.
- Working, hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook) and other software applications for the PC.
- Demonstrated commitment to personal professional development.
- Ability and means to travel among regional work sites and other locations.
- Teaching/instruction experience.
- Experience in instructional design.
Preferred but not Required
- Teaching experience at the community college, university or corporate level.
- Experience using instructional technologies.
- Experience working with a diverse population.
Proposed Salary

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT
Description
- Provide instruction in Business disciplines such a Marketing, Business Law, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality Management, and Personal Finance by planning, organizing and delivering instruction using classroom or varied modalities to promote student success within the community and college setting in accordance with college policies and practices.
- Develop curriculum and prepare course materials to prepare students for careers according to accreditation and best practices in collaboration with Business and Information Technology faculty.
- Determine intended course outcomes and develop learning activities, strategies and assessments necessary to achieve course outcomes.
- Assume teaching assignments at all College locations and within all College hours of operation. Collaborate with department director to establish program course schedule to meet student needs.
- Engage with Business and Industry to assure that current and relevant curriculum necessary for the contemporary workforce is maintained.
- Collaborate with department director and other faculty to select and standardize technology and software that can be used in coursework across multiple programs of similar study.
- Maintain current knowledge of trends in the professional discipline and of best practices in educational methodologies through continuing professional development.
- Participate in institutional training in online teaching/learning and instructional design/delivery.
- Maintain office hours; participate cooperatively in department and institutional meeting and committees.
- Submit student grades and class records according to the determined deadlines.

STUDENT RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION
Description
- Serve as a program expert and enthusiast for students and others seeking information about Business careers. Represent the College in activities to promote the Business profession of and encourage program enrollment and completion.
- Commit to the advancement of outcomes related to historically underrepresented populations in all Business and Information Technology areas.
- Collaborate with Admissions Department, and the Public Information and Marketing Department in program recruitment, promotional, and admission efforts.
- Cultivate collaborative partnerships with local business and industry, K-12 school systems and other post-secondary educational institutions in efforts to enhance enrollment and provide rich and efficient learning experiences for students. This includes representing the College and Business and Information Technology programs at community activities and during campus visits and tours.
- Collaborate with secondary and postsecondary colleagues to generate opportunities for articulation, dual-enrollment, early/middle college and work-based learning to improve the efficiency of the educational process.
- Develop and maintain viable work-based learning experiences (apprenticeships, co-ops, internships/externships) for students.
- Develop strategies intended to improve program access, student success, cost efficiency, and Perkins Core Performance Indicators. Reach out to students to foster relationships to inspire, advise, mentor, and remediate students in need to encourage retention and completion.

- Collaborate with College administration in strategic and budgetary planning to assure necessary resources.
- Collaborate with administration and faculty to maintain continuous quality improvement processes and plan appropriate strategies based on assessment of student learning.
- Identify equipment, program improvement and professional development strategies that qualify for Perkins funding and submit necessary grant requests to the department director.
- Assume teaching assignments at all College locations, within all College hours of operation, collaborate with Director to establish program schedule to meet student needs and in all modalities as needed.
- Participate in instructional meetings and committees.
- Seek out and engage with institutional initiatives which enhance the mission of the College. Provide service to the College through leadership and participation on various committee and workgroups.

Description

- Mentor Business adjunct staff in conjunction with department goals.
- Complete assessment responsibilities as it relates to accreditation standards outlined by Kellogg Community College.
- Maintain an active and engaged advisory committee. Plan and facilitate a formal advisory committee meeting no less than twice per academic year.
- Collaborate with employers and advisory committee members regarding student learning outcomes, supervision, liability and pre-access requirements.
- Participate in institutional professional development training including but not limited to online teaching/learning and instructional design/delivery.
- Maintain professional licensed credentials as outlined by minimum position requirements, if applicable.
- Maintain current and relevant teaching expertise in content topics related to Business.
- Other duties may include maintaining/coordinating classroom/laboratories, coordinating and ordering supplies for all Business courses and extracurricular activities such as work-based learning experiences and college Business Professionals club.
- Be willing to teach in another discipline within the Business and Information Technology Department, when applicable.
- Effectively deliver course content via all modalities including face-to-face, online, hybrid, and remote synchronous.
