POSITION DETAILS
Position Summary
Reporting to the After Market Manager, this position requires the you to assist in the repair of pumps, valves, and related systems for the U.S. Navy and other industrial customers throughout the world by fabricating, assembling, and testing mechanical and electrical components and associated parts. You will ensure that specifications are followed and the highest quality standards are maintained when repairing products. The job requires lifting and trasporting (50-75lbs) of pump equipment, tool bags, lifting gear etc.
You Will:
- Assist in the repairs of components primarily located on U.S. Naval vessels.
- Remove and replace various model pumps & valves that are attached and electric
- Must fabricate, assemble, and test pump and valves per customer requirements to ensure repair work meets specifications
- Assist in rigging of equipment throughout the ship and maintain safety certifications for related equipment
- Disassemble, assemble, clean, paint and inspect equipment using special tooling, measuring devices and visual inspection procedures
- Troubleshooting problems to determine root cause.
- Installs, aligns and op-tests repaired equipment
- Assists in reviewing parts inventory by checking stock
Job Requirements:
You Have:
- Knowledge of electrical and mechanical assembly and repair work
- Must be able to lift 50 to 75lbs and navigate throughout a ship
- Prior experience using hand tools and measuring equipment
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications helpful
- 50% travel required
- U.S. citizenship
- Valid Driver's license a must
- 3+ years experience in a repair environment preferably in a shipyard
- High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's degree, vocational or technical training preferred
