This position will work a hybrid schedule which includes a combination of working both onsite at Towne Centre Drive and remote.

DESCRIPTION

The Health System Info Services Finance Analyst 2 performs a wide range of intermediate financial analysis and fiscal management tasks for Information Services departments and projects. The analyst's duties encompass financial reporting, detailed expense report analysis, budget forecasting and management, ledger reconciliation, IT procurement, and assist year-end fiscal closing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

IT Procurement:

  • Review and prioritize incoming IT equipment requests through ServiceNow.
  • Validate request details for completeness and accuracy.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes and availability.
  • Address any questions or concerns from requesters.
  • Create and submit purchase requisition in Aperek, supply chain software.
  • Ensure purchases align with budgetary constraints.
  • Verify that procurement policies and guidelines are followed.

Expense Oversight:

  • Review and verify the accuracy of invoices received from vendors, ensuring that all invoices comply with the terms of the contract and purchase orders.
  • Resolve financial discrepancies and forecast potential issues.
  • Track and manage departmental and project expenses to stay within budget constraints.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports, including variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and other related documentation.
  • Use spreadsheets and databases to organize resource information and generate customized vendor reports.

Budget Management:

  • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets for IT departments and projects.
  • Analyze budget performance and provide recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.

Ledger Reconciliation and Closing Processes:

  • Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial activities are properly recorded.

Operational Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis to support operational decision-making.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to improve operational efficiency.

Communication:

  • Provide information and reports to support resource allocation decisions.
  • Present financial findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate directly with the vendor to resolve any discrepancies or issues found.
  • Collaborate with various departments and organizations to gather and validate financial data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Six (6) years of related accounting and/or finance experience, education/training OR Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field, plus two (2) years of related experience/training.

  • Working knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems.

  • Ability to gather reasonably retrievable information to organize, and perform basic financialanalysis assignments.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing clearly andconcisely.

  • Demonstrated ability using spreadsheet and database software for moderately complex financialanalysis, fiscal management, and financial reports.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills at all levels within the unit; excellent service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Ability to function as a member of a team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working in a large organization or healthcare facility.

  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze financial data and detect discrepancies.

  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing invoices and financial documents.

  • Communication: Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills for interacting with vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Independent and Team Oriented: Capable of working autonomously while also effectively collaborating with various team members stakeholders.

  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using financial software, spreadsheets, and other data analysis tools.

  • Problem-Solving: Capable of identifying issues and developing solutions to resolve discrepancies.

  • Knowledge of Financial Principles: Understanding of accounting principles.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,800 - $111,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $30.56 - $53.45

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
