MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a related field *and* five (5) years of work-related experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have at least 10 years’ experience leading a college financial aid department; knowledge of financial aid rules and regulations, HOPE, Pell, and student loans; Applicant must have sufficient accounting skills and experience working with BANNER financial aid; Must have customer service skills to meet and deal with the general public in person and over the telephone in an efficient and tactful manner; Excellent computer skills, people skills, and the ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills; The ideal candidate will be dependable, flexible, detail oriented, and possesses a strong work ethic. Applicant must have knowledge of general office practices and procedures to include maintaining confidential office records, maintaining an accurate filing system, organizational skills, and customer service skills
RESPONSIBILITIES: Administers and supervises the implementation of all financial aid policies, office procedures and funding programs; Plans, organizes and supervises the operational functions of the Financial Aid Office; Counsels students and parents regarding financial aid programs; Oversees the accountability for all financial aid rewards; Prepares and manages student cost-of-attendance budgets; Coordinates and maintains financial aid records; Participates in college committees as assigned; Prepares and analyzes operational reports and other data; Disseminates financial aid information to staff, students, and community organizations; Serves as college’s liaison for state and federal program reviews and audits; Manages and oversees financial/budget operation of the department; Monitors the activities of personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state, and TCSG policies and department procedures; Prepares monthly and yearly reconciliation of federal and state aid programs; Works with marketing to create campaigns that encourage FAFSA completion; Develops and/or assists with the development of policies and procedures and recommends changes to effectively meet the goals and requirements of the program; Monitor and reduce RNP lists each term; Ensure R2T4, SAP, Enrollment Reporting, Verification, HOPE and VA internal audits are conducted quarterly; Prepares weekly reports for VPSA; Evaluates employees at scheduled intervals upon reviewing of all relevant information; Conducts regular evaluation of services provided and make adjustments as needed; Maintains up-to-date policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives
SALARY:
Salary commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.
SPECIAL NOTES:
It shall be a condition of employment to submit to a background investigation. Offers of employment shall be conditional pending the result of the background investigation.
