The Role

As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Quality Control Instrument Inspector performs routine visual, dimension and functional inspection of benchtop electronic medical devices. Inspector will create documents and reports of inspection, findings and results. Inspector initiates Non-Conforming Materials Reports (NCMRs) as required and closes NCMR and work orders in LN standard procedures.

This position will be onsite full-time at our San Diego, CA - Waples facility.

The Responsibilities

  • Performs incoming inspection of diagnostic Instruments.
  • Performs inventory rework and software updates of Diagnostic Instruments.
  • Performs, documents and files first articles.
  • Reviews documents for completeness, compliance and files.
  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies.
  • Supports receiving inspection operations as needed.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

The Individual

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 0 -1 years' Quality Control inspection experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow detailed procedures, instructions and drawings.
  • Understanding of QSRs/ISO.
  • Demonstrated professional behavior.
  • Experience in MS Office, Word, Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a medical device manufacturing environment strongly desired

The Key Working Relationships

Internal Partners:

  • Shipping - Informs of product readiness to ship and provides necessary.
  • Manufacturing - Communicates with various levels of personnel throughout activities performed. Resolves quality issues or refers to management.
  • Warehouse - Communicates issues regarding materials/transactions, coordinate release of inspected materials and provide necessary documentation.

External Partners:

  • Vendors and customers.

The Work Environment

The work environment characteristics are representative of a warehouse, laboratory, and manufacturing environment. Flexible work hours to meet project deadlines. Position requires ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular basis and moving materials up to 35lbs. Daily tasks include moving boxes of material from warehouse to a lab for inspection. Up to 60-80% of time at lab bench or desk, walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of time are routine to accomplish tasks in this role. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Position may require use of Personal Protective Equipment, including safety shoes.

Salary Transparency

The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $36,000 to $61,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
