Job Description:

As a Total Rewards Intern at Sony Electronics, you 'll dive into our compensation practices, processes and philosophies. This role will support the Compensation team, gaining hands-on experience as you manipulate data, create insightful reports, and unlock valuable insights. Beyond technical skills, you'll learn about our business and gain an understanding of how compensation strategies contribute to our overall success. This internship promises a stimulating environment where your contributions directly impact our operations, preparing you for a rewarding career in the field of human resources and compensation management.

This role is based out of our San Diego, CA headquarters. In-office days are Tuesday/Wednesday. This is a part-time role, working 16 hours per week.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary degree program, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Data Analytics, Finance, or related fields.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data visualization, macros).

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to analyze data and present findings in a clear and concise manner.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proactive and eager to learn, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.

  • Prior internship experience or coursework in HR, compensation, or data analysis is a plus.

Duration and Compensation:

  • This internship is a 3-month assignment, beginning in July, with potential for extension.

  • Compensation: $20 - $26/hour

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in gathering and organizing data related to employee compensation and benefits.

  • Utilize Excel to analyze and manipulate data sets, creating reports and summaries as needed.

  • Support the compensation team in conducting market research and benchmarking studies.

  • Aid in the preparation of presentations and documents for internal stakeholders.

  • Help maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee compensation packages.

  • Collaborate with team members on special projects as assigned.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of all data and information.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $20 to $26. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
