The Manufacturing Engineer II that supports our Agena Bioscience business has responsibility for aiding in the design, development, troubleshooting, and optimization of manufacturing and supporting processes. Provide technical direction, training, and support to manufacturing technicians.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the interface point of contact on technical and service related issues between manufacturing and field service team.
  • Develops a working and collaborative relationship with manufacturing, R&D, and field service.
  • Perform final acceptance testing on manufacturing equipment and performs feasibility studies.
  • Follow departmental protocol including, but not limited to parts ordering, Return Materials Authorization, data tracking and expense reporting.
  • Complete change orders, customer complaint handling, and instrument configuration documentation for ISO compliance.
  • Repair, install and maintain mass spectrometers, dispensing equipment, liquid handlers, computers/databases, and application software.
  • Documents and updates manufacturing processes, drawings, BOMs, and specfications.
  • Attend scientific meetings and seminars.
  • Lead daily management meeting for instrument manufacturing team as needed.
  • Will have in house training and field training.
  • Coordinates flow of equipment between manufacturing to final warehouse disposition.
  • Identifies and evaluates areas for process improvements.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications.
  • Provide technical advise/ training to manufacturing technicians.
  • Completes change order packages and drives cross-functional approval of the change orders.
  • Gains expertise of installation, testing, calibration, repair, and maintenance of Agena systems.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in physics, biotechnology, bioengineering, electronics, biochemistry, or related field.
  • 2+years of manufacturing engineering, field service, customer support, technical support or similar experience for Engineer.
  • Previous experience with sophisticated, complex and/or scientific laboratory equipment.
  • Experience in life science industry and with mass spectrometry is desirable.

Compensation/Benefits:

The company offers a comprehensive benefits package and compensation for this position. The package includes base salary, bonus, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401k/Match.

Salary Range for this position is $85,000 - $90,000.
