The Transformational Leaders Program is an academic scholars program serving our first generation, Pell eligible, and historically marginalize student population. The Education and Outreach Specialist (EOS) role is a full-time, student-facing position reporting to the Director of TLP. The TLP Education and Outreach Specialist works directly with scholars to assist them in assessing, accessing, and coordinating a seamless continuum of on and off campus services to meet students’ needs broadly construed, serving as a mentor, navigator, and source of support for our student population.
Additionally, the TLP Education and Outreach Specialist, in concert with the TLP leadership team, establishs and maintains working relationships across the University, particularly but not limited to: College level academic advisers, the Learning Resource Center, Career Services, Center for Student Support and Care, Notre Dame Global, Residential Life, University Health Services, the Enrollment Division, including Financial Aid, and the Center for University Advising. The Education and Outreach Specialist provides support for TLP’s physical space with regular office hours, developing and managing academic related peer groups, creating targeted programming and events in collaboration with other members of the TLP team and units across campus, and assisting students with their overall academic trajectory.
The TLP Education and Outreach Specialist will also be integrally involved in pre-matriculation programming and Summer Session student engagement. This position is an emergent one with opportunities to shape and craft aspects of the work in concert with university administration and changing needs. The TLP Education and Outreach Specialist must have the ability to handle and interpret sensitive information with discretion and a high level of confidentiality. They will embrace the mission of the University of Notre Dame, a Catholic university founded by the Congregation of the Holy Cross.
This is a 3 year limited term position.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and culturally sustaining practices.
- A commitment to the University’s Catholic identity and the ability to engage in practices consistent with the University’s Catholic mission, values, and teachings.
- A commitment to a developmental model of advocating for, advising, and engaging with students.
- Knowledge about developmental, psychological, social and physical, and intellectual issues related to young adulthood.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in related field.
- 3-5 years of experience working with college students in a residential campus setting.
- Expertise in needs assessment.
- Experience working in large, diffuse teams in case management and/or working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Experience with multifaceted and multimodal interventions related to student success.
- Experience managing crisis situations with youth or young adults.
