- Both positions shall serve as an Assistant to the head coach in all phases of conducting a Division I, nationally competitive softball program in compliance with NCAA rules.
- One assistant shall serve as hitting coach. This coach is expected to develop and lead a comprehensive hitting and offensive strategy and philosophy for the softball program. This assistant coach shall also be responsible for the outfielders.
- One assistant shall serve as the pitching coach. This coach is expected to develop a comprehensive pitching development plan for the pitching staff and have expert knowledge of in-game calling.
- Film/Video Coordinator – Expected to learn and implement a video system for coaches and players to utilize for scouting, game preparation, and skill development through practice.
- May be tasked as recruiting coordinator. As such, will be responsible for executing recruiting philosophy and ensuring entire staff has a clear plan for recruiting each year.
- Assist Recruiting Coordinator – Expected to assist Recruiting Coordinator with correspondence, unofficial and official visits, on-road recruiter in the fall and summer and maintain data base for recruiting.
- Game Equipment Liaison – Expected to be the liaison between contracted equipment companies and our program. Will be responsible for the maintenance and organization of team equipment rooms and inventory.
- Scout Opposing Teams – Expected to create Offensive Scouting Report on Opponents and deliver information to the players ahead of time. Will be expected to watch live games and/or through Synergy to know opponents.
- Assist in planning all practices and perform coaching duties such as technique instruction and drill implementation.
- Discuss with the head coach both team and individual strengths and weaknesses and design strategies for improvement.
- Provide feedback to student-athletes, both as part of practice, and through analysis of videotape from practice.
- Assist the operations director with all aspects of the softball camp activities including daily schedule, securing camp staff, ordering equipment, arranging facilities and dates, and creating brochures.
- Work in conjunction with media relations director to manage social media.
There are two open position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required (4 years)
- Knowledge of the game of softball including techniques, strategies, and rules
- Ability to teach fundamental softball skills
- Must have knowledge of NCAA rules
Preferred Qualifications
- Collegiate playing or coaching experience preferred
