Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
A position is available immediately as a Faculty Assistant to contribute to our studies on foods and human health, especially as relating to flavonoids, the gut microbiome, and migraine disease. The Faculty Assistant will conduct research, including the coordination human subjects research, assist in the training of students, participate in data cleaning and analysis, manuscript and grant-writing, and take part in the management of the laboratory of Dr. Margaret Slavin at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Education:
- BS/BA in Nutrition, Food Science, Dietetics, or related field, and prior research experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
- Basic computer skills including email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Preferences:
Preferences:
- MS in Nutrition, Food Science, Dietetics, or related field.
- Prior experience in human subjects research and statistical analysis.
- Prior professional experience in safe food preparation.
- Familiarity with food composition and dietary databases.
- Excellent communication skills, including both writing and oral.
