As an Audio Video Systems Engineer at the University of Notre Dame, you will join a dynamic, cross-functional team bridging operations and design. Collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders, you will be instrumental in successfully implementing integrated audio-visual technology solutions. Your contributions will include designing, commissioning, and maintaining advanced audio-visual systems that bolster various academic and administrative activities, fostering an enhanced environment for learning and collaboration. This position requires profound technical knowledge, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to shepherd complex converged technology projects effectively.

Operational:
  • Serve as a Tier 3 Support Engineer for classrooms, meeting spaces, and multipurpose rooms across the University.
  • Coordinate the comprehensive lifecycle management of audio-visual endpoints.
  • Act as the departmental lead for purchasing.

Design:
  • Assist senior AV engineers and consultants with developing and validating AV designs.
  • Work in collaboration with integrators, architects, contractors, and other necessary parties to facilitate AV installation projects.
  • Take the lead in the construction and commissioning of development projects and pilots.

Documentation and Training:
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for audio-visual systems, including configurations and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Manage project closeout deliverables, such as training materials and as-built documentation.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Expertise with AV systems integration, design, programming, administration, and configuration.
  • Sound knowledge of leading-edge best practices in AV/IT operations and project delivery.
  • Experience in integrating AV/IT Systems in an enterprise environment.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant industry-specific certification (e.g., CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D, Crestron Programming Certification) and vendor-specific certifications or training for appropriate equipment, such as Shure, WolfVision, QSC, BiAmp, NEC, Panasonic, Vaddio equipment or other projectors, flat-panel displays, DSPs, document cameras, PTZ cameras, AV control systems, or audio/video transport tools.
  • Experience with enterprise purchasing systems
