Summary
We have an immediate opening within the Center for Molecular Imaging in the Department of Radiology for a Ph.D. level candidate in Analytical Chemistry or a related field. The candidate is required to have a strong background in the use of LC-MS/MS along with a demonstrated ability to work independently in trouble shooting system issues. High proficiency in LC-MS/MS and familiarity with or the ability to learn and implement MALDI/DESI MS imaging techniques is also required. The candidate is expected to be a team player and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Responsibilities*
5%- Design of protocols for MS
70%- Acquisition of MS data
20%- Data analysis and record-keeping
5%- Maintenance and calibration of LC-MS/MS
Required Qualifications*
Conscientious, responsible person who is interested in being a member of a team of researchers working on novel drug development and molecular imaging and development of analytical quantitative assays tailored for quantification of tissue compound levels of novel molecularly targeted agents. Candidate must have excellent organizational and communications skills and be interested in learning new skills
Desired Qualifications*
Must be a Ph.D. level. The candidate is required to have a strong background in mass spectrometry and HPLC along with a demonstrated ability to work independently in the quantitative analysis of small molecules from tissue specimen samples. High proficiency in LC-MS/MS and familiarity with MALDI and DESI MS molecular imaging techniques is required. Must be able to work effectively with other research members to efficiently design studies as well as process and analyze samples efficiently.

One-year postdoc with option to renew.
