To help achieve this mission, this pivotal role is responsible for establishing and leading our newly formed Business Intelligence team. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Business Operations & Technology, you will spearhead the team's efforts to leverage data-driven insights, drive strategic decision-making, and optimize our operations. As the leader of this team, you will play a critical role in shaping our organization's future through innovative data strategies and solutions. Core Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the overarching vision and strategy for the Business Intelligence function, aligning it closely with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a high-performing team of professionals across various disciplines, including Data Science, Business Intelligence Architecture, Data Stewardship, Data Governance, and Data Analysis. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Implementation Oversight: Take charge of the implementation of business intelligence initiatives, including the deployment of advanced analytics, data architecture, and governance frameworks. Ensure the successful execution of projects while adhering to timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the budget for business intelligence initiatives, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and alignment with organizational priorities. Provide strategic guidance on resource allocation to maximize impact.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders across departments to understand their data needs and priorities. Champion the importance of data-driven decision-making and foster strong relationships to ensure business intelligence solutions meet organizational requirements.
  • Data Strategy Development: Oversee the development and deployment of advanced analytics and predictive modeling techniques to derive actionable insights from complex datasets. Lead the design and implementation of the organization's business intelligence and analytics infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce data stewardship policies and procedures to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of our data assets. Develop and implement data governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in data management.
  • Performance Measurement: Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness of business intelligence initiatives. Track progress towards organizational goals and provide regular updates to senior leadership.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in a leadership role overseeing business intelligence or data analytics initiatives, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Experience managing, organizing, and coordinating projects and process-improvements in a program.
  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) preferred.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrated expertise in data science, business intelligence architecture, data stewardship, data governance, and data analysis.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable business results through the use of data driven insights and solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience managing and developing a diverse team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
 
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment
  • Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs., up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to sit or stand - or alternate between sitting and standing - for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to enter text or data into a computer by means of a traditional keyboard.
  • Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of spoken and written word to accurately impart information and instructions to others.
  • Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech in person, over the phone and through computer speakers. Revision Date:
  • Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches, including use of computer screens.
  • Average salary range is $130,000K - $186,000K, open to further discussion based on geography.
  • Some weekend and evening hours may be required.
