Job Description
The Financial Aid Specialist provides financial aid information and counseling assistance to students and parents on federal, state and institutional financial aid programs; and processes financial aid applications, including verification and awarding financial aid to eligible students.
This is accomplished by remaining current on constantly-changing Title IV regulations, state and institutional policies and procedures performing verification in compliance with statutory requirements; performing various complex technical duties to determine financial need and award in accordance with federal and state law and institutional policy; educating students, parents and community members about financial aid; and communicating scholarship information.
Specific duties may include work with outside private and some state scholarships; processing professional judgements as part of a committee; financial literacy including default management; collaborating with other departments; and assisting with coordination of special events.
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree
Required Experience
One to three years experience working in financial aid or a directly related field is required.

General Weekly Work Schedule
General work schedule is Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday until 4:30 p.m.
One late night per week is required, either Monday or Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Final work schedule will be determined by the supervisor.
