Job Description

The University of Notre Dame Enterprises and Events (UEE) division is currently hiring for the position of In-Room Dining Server within the department of Morris Inn. The UEE division leads the University’s event management, hospitality, and customer service functions while supporting student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives.

Why this position?
This position is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and courteous service to our F&B Patrons, including hotel guests, to-go orders, special events, Rohr’s & Wind Family Terrace. These include but are not limited to food running, bussing of tables, food service and anticipation, recognition, and responsiveness to the needs of others while following global service standards. Behaving at all times with optimism, intelligence, curiosity, work integrity, empathy, and self awareness, all while preforming the tasks of greeting, describing and explaining food and beverage offerings, creating guest orders, communicating guest orders accurately, serving food and beverages according to standards, assuring continued food and beverage service at all times, presenting guest checks and securing payment, and completing all additional tasks to support an environment that is hospitable at all times.

Minimum Qualifications

 Lift and Carry trays with Food and beverage items on them, weight up to 25 pounds. Intuitive and reasoning skills, with a passion for helping, to support anticipatory service to others. 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a similar position, in an upscale hospitality organization is preferred, including:
  • Food, liquor and wine
  • Room Service operations
  • Guest service
  • Ability to obtain, and retain any government required licenses, certificates, or permits applicable to the position including:
  • Minimum of 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages in Hotel rooms
  • Indiana Alcohol Beverage permit
